Research area

My current research in Dr. Dordick’s group involves to obtain the chemical structure of apocynin oxidation products catalyzed by peroxidase and the biochemical mechanism how they inhibit the assembly and activation of human vascular NADPH oxidase complex, which is recognized the major source of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the three principal cell types of blood vessel wall and plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of vascular diseases, such as atherosclerosis.
