Research area

My research in the Dordick group focuses on a better understanding of the mechanisms that regulate stem cell proliferation (e.g. self-renewal) and differentiation. Microscale technologies will be use to perform high-throughput assays, making possible to direct stem cell fate and elucidate the underlying biology. Microfabricated arrays will be used for the effective identification of small molecules that control stem cell expansion and differentiation.

The use of a cell-based screening on a microscale platform will allow a fast and effective identification of small molecules (natural products, growth factors and synthetic compounds) that can be used to selectively control stem cell proliferation and differentiation.
