Woman outside in long blue coat, smiling, on a sunny day

I was born in Columbus, Ohio and grew up in Chennai, India. I got my Bachelor's degree B.Tech in Biotechnology from SASTRA Deemed to be University, Thanjavur.

As an undergrad student, I did an internship in the Bioprocess and Metabolic Engineering lab in the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, which got me interested in research. I joined the Dordick lab in November 2024.

My broad research interests include microbiology and bioprocessing. I am currently working on the detection of pathogenic bacterial cells and spores using cell lytic enzymes.

In my free time, I like to sing classical Indian (Carnatic) music and read fantasy novels.
